Coronavirus in Ohio

Stay-At-Home Order

Yes, it's been too long since I've written an update on here.  With the influx of Coronavirus and with how the last few weeks have taken shape, I've been on hold with getting an update ready.  With all the downtime over the last few days, I've found myself in the middle of rewrites for the backstory of this blog, and really looking forward to having a final copy for everyone to enjoy.  I know most of you don't go through this blog page by page, but getting closer to palatable copy is something that I've looked forward for a long time.

I know most of you don't know my backstory simply because I've only shared bits and pieces of it throughout the years.  The downside to allowing the audience to draw their own conclusion is that a lot of assumptions and personal judgments were being made about who I am, and how I got here.  Those assumptions change when I verbalize the challenges that many of us went through while serving in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and furthermore, the spiritually challenging growth that I went through while serving as an enlisted Marine in Lisbon, Portugal.  Needless to say, there is a rhythm and a rhyme to why I became a massage therapist, why I practice bodywork, and why I use the word “prophecy” in my tag line.

As many, or most of you know, the entire state of Ohio is shut down, including licensed massage therapy services.  I'm grateful that this happened sooner than later, as the news coming from out west was concerning me in the days and weeks leading up to the shutdown.  While the COVID-19 virus is on everyone's minds, I want to remind everyone that washing your hands is one of the simplest measures of prevention with this potentially life-threatening infection.

As a part-time Rideshare driver for both major Transportation Network Companies, I've found myself in conversation with many riders who have also expressed concern, not just about the transmission of the virus, but also with the vast number of people that seemingly don't wash their hands after using the restroom.  Please folks, wash your hands.  Cover your mouth when sneezing, and stay at home when you're not feeling well.  The risk of further infections just isn't worth it, and once we weather this storm together, you'll be glad that you're still alive.

And before you ask, yes, my car is currently parked and enjoying the much needed break from having too many miles being added to it.

Sacred Hoops' Attire

I've also been waiting for the release of the newest graphics for the Good Hawk and Eagle Crow line of apparel.  As you can see, I now offer the Sacred Hoops' t-shirt, two different varieties of baseball hats, and a decent sized coffee mug, for those of you that would like to support my work.  When I first started this blog, I wanted to find a way that would supplement my income as a bodywork professional, while still allowing me the freedom to practice as I needed.  I didn't want to be tied down to a physical location, as I had in the past, and I didn't want to find myself coming from a place of financial desperation.

I also wanted a way to begin raising funds for the future Sacred Hoops' network.  Although the world doesn't necessarily need another social network, and while my goal isn't to have over 2,000,000,000 users to validate my self-worth, I do need a place to do, what it is that I do, and without the interference that's coming from Mark Zuckerberg.  As some of you know, and as many you don't, the Zuckerbergs have been a consistent problem and nuisance for me over the last several years.  I've always been concerned about the perch that they've constructed for themselves, and their ability to steal from their users, mimic their identity, and otherwise deceive their users in ways that we don't know of.

I'm tired of having to deal with Mark Zuckerberg, and I'm tired of hearing about god-damned Facebook.  As you can see, I don't use my Facebook page, mostly due to the fact that Mark copies and steals most things that I post online, and also out of concern for my personal safety and well-being.  I'm also close to removing the Instagram feed from this blog because I know that someone, somewhere, has copied these images for their own use, and in all of Mark's arrogance, he's continued to make the work that I've contributed to this world about himself.

An Awakened Community of Healers

What is Sacred Hoops, is what a lot of people are asking, and despite my interests in creating an awakened circle of healers, and one that's focused on the real-time communities they serve, I've found myself unwilling to share my thoughts in a public forum.  We're obviously influenced from the Earth-based indigenous traditions of North and Central America, and we're obviously interested in a private forum where others of like mind can connect, learn, and grow in their own way.  We're also interested in breaking down the racial barriers that have divided us, and finding common ground for the Earth that supports our spiritual practice.  We also have a game to play, and one that could be mirrored after the Mesoamerican ball games of Olmec, Mayan, and Aztec fame – less the human sacrifice, of course.

There are a handful of really great relationships that have been waiting for the alternative to Facebook.  From a few Hollyword celebrities, to the Shark Tank itself, and to more than a few famous NBA players, many have expressed an interest in learning more about what the Sacred Hoops' community could become.  I realize that I need to make a specific course of action to take, rather than relying on the empty words of a false promise, and the creation of the Sacred Hoops' attire is one step in that direction.  I also realize that the Coronavirus is upon us, and the economic slowdown has affected the outcome in ways that are difficult to anticipate.  It's with this understanding that I wanted to give everyone a more in-depth update of where I'm coming from, and how the current pandemic is affecting us here in Ohio.
